Brief description

‘We have some wonderful mosaics in Pompeii, but I’ve never seen a better one than this!’

After the young Roman mosaic designer Felix starts work in Pompeii, his whole life changes. There he falls in love with the beautiful Greek slave Agathe, who can see into the future.

When the volcano Vesuvius sends hot ash over the city, Felix – and Agathe’s brother Alcander – ride to the port of Misenum for help. But will they reach admiral Gaius Plinius in time, and will they ever see Agathe alive again?

Description

‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ is a remake of the Alexander Dumas tale by the same name. Dantes, a sailor who is falsely accused of treason by his best friend Fernand, who wants Dantes’ girlfriend Mercedes for himself. Dantes is imprisoned on the island prison of Chateau d’If for 13 years, where he plots revenge against those who betrayed him. With the help of another prisoner, he escapes the island and proceeds to transform himself into the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo as part of his plan to exact revenge.

There are also some projects to do, if any student decides to do a digital essay, it must be handed in by June 23rd. The year is 1757. The English and the French are at war in North America. Two sisters – Cora and Alice – want to visit their father, General Munro. They begin their dangerous journey with the handsome English officer, Duncan Heyward, and the Indian guide, Magua. On the way to Fort William Henry, they meet friends and enemies, and many adventures. Magua turns out to be a traitor and he leads the expedition to an ambush where many soldairs die. Fortunately, Hawkeye and his two Indian friends, Chingachgook and his son Uncas, appear and the sisters and Duncan get survived, then Duncan wants Hawkeye to help them go to the fort but he refuses to obey orders from a British officer because he considers himself as a free American.  However, Cora gets to persuade him. At the end, some people will become heroes and some will die. But what will happen to  their friend Uncas, the last of the Mohicans Indians?. While reading remember to note down the difficult words using stickers as we talked and then do the exercises which appear at the end of the chapter using a pencil.
